Jane Chivers and Kevin Mullane have always had a passion for food and good coffee. On a visit to the Big Apple, they were very impressed and inspired by the consistency of quality coffee shops on offer in New York City.
Kevin also runs "Thyme Out" Delicatessen in Dinas Powis but felt the time was right to invest in High Street, Barry. The result was Vanilla Delicatessen and Patisserie. The business offers an eclectic mix of deli food, patisserie and coffee shop to eat in or take out.
Jane and Kevin are keen supporters of local producers, where possible, and, sell exclusive to the Vale of Glamorgan, Heavenly Icecream, handmade in Llandeilo using organic milk and fresh cream.
Vanilla also sells other food companies produce including Patchwork and the Cambrian Hills Co.
The delicatessen specialises in organic oils, dessert relishes, speciality chocolates and much more.
Vanilla is open Monday to Saturday, 8am - 5pm and for the "Vanilla Chilla" on a Sunday, 10am - 2pm.
